On this occasion, and in view of International Children’s Day, the Powiat Family Support Centre organized the 8th Integration Picnic for foster families from Bolesławiec County. Held under the theme “My Hero,” the event took place on May 25, 2024, at Ranczo Piotrowski in Dobra.
Children and young people from foster families and the Children’s Home in Bolesławiec prepared beautiful, colorful artworks. Winners were selected in four age groups. Thanks to the generosity of the sponsors who were secured, all children who took part in the competition received prizes.
The day also provided an opportunity to thank all foster families for the demanding work they do and for building a better world for children with great commitment and responsibility.
During the Picnic, children enjoyed the games, contests and surprises prepared by Ms Agata from the “Foremka” Animation Centre. Thanks to the generosity of donors, all participants received attractive prizes from Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak, Deputy Starost Patryk Hałka and Chairman of the Bolesławiec County Council Maciej Małkowski. Refreshments were also provided. In addition, the foster families made the gathering more enjoyable by bringing homemade baked goods.
The sound system and musical entertainment were provided by ARS Studio Artur Skrzela, which is a friend of the local Centre. Participants could hug and take a photo with the large, fluffy “Bear Rysiek,” who not only brought smiles to the faces of Picnic attendees but also, as befits a bear, handed out “a little something sweet.”
The ladies from Caritas of the Legnica Diocese, which provided medical patronage, watched over the participants’ safety. It was also possible to learn many interesting facts about the forest, its resources and the need to care for nature, and to take part in workshops organized and prepared by the Bolesławiec Forest District. Those interested could also enter the fire engine of the County State Fire Service and talk to firefighters.
