The Bolesławiec local government has designated three areas that will undergo revitalization, meaning various changes intended, among other things, to accelerate economic development and thereby improve residents’ quality of life.
The area around Jeleniogórska Street has been designated as the City Gate. It contains former military grounds. The city plans to provide them with utilities and adapt them for residential, recreational and service functions.
As part of the Town Center area, the old-town buildings will be renovated, taking their historic character into account. The boundaries of this area are marked by Chrobrego, Spółdzielcza, Zygmunta Augusta, Podgórna, Garncarska, Władysława Łokietka, Wesoła and Bohaterów Getta streets.
The third area included in the revitalization plan is the Bóbr River Valley. The areas along the riverbed are to become attractive to Bolesławiec residents and visitors to the city. The plans include illuminating the railway viaduct, as well as renovating the outdoor swimming pools and the boulevard along the Bóbr.
The Local Revitalization Plan is to receive funding from the European Union.
