Rules of the 9th edition of the “There’s Power” art and photography competition

General information:

The Director of the Powiatowy Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Wychowawczy in Iwiny invites young people to participate in the ninth edition of the art and photography competition, held under this year’s theme: “There’s Power”. The competition is intended for primary and secondary school students aged 12 to 18.

The objectives of the competition are to:

  • encourage young people to spend their free time constructively
  • motivate them to seek and draw inspiration from their immediate surroundings
  • develop creative sensitivity,
  • present artistic skills and creativity
  • and, above all, enable self-expression through art

Rules of participation:

1. The basis for participating in the competition organized by the Powiatowy Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Wychowawczy in Iwiny is the creation of:

  • an artwork
  • a photograph
  • a graphic work created using a computer program, on this year’s required theme: “There’s Power”.

2. The competition is open to young people aged 12–18.

3. In the case of residents of youth sociotherapy centres, youth educational centres, and district youth educational centres, up to five participants from each institution are allowed.

4. Each participant may submit only one work, which must not have been published previously and must have an original title.

5. This year’s edition will be held remotely/online. Works in the form of a scan or JPG file, together with the entry form, should be sent to iwiny@vp.pl between 20 May 2024 and 15 June 2024.

6. For underage participants, the consent of a legal guardian is required, or the entry form may be completed by an educator after obtaining the legal guardian’s consent for the minor’s participation.

Rules for conducting and deciding the competition

  1. this year’s edition of the competition will be held remotely/online
  2. the works will be published on the https://istotne.pl/boleslawiec
    3. website
    4. votes for a selected competition entry may be cast using a link generated by the portal’s editorial team
    5. the link generated by the portal’s editorial team will immediately be shared/sent to the email address from which the entry and work were submitted
    6. the works that receive the highest number of votes in the online survey/poll will be awarded prizes according to the first, second and third places, corresponding to the number of votes collected
    7. the winners will receive prizes in kind, sent by the organizer to the indicated address, or they may be collected at the Powiatowy Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Wychowawczy in Iwiny
    8. the organizer reserves the right to award distinctions and consolation prizes
    9. the results of the online poll will be published on the website of the media patron, istotne.pl

To improve communication between the competition organizer and participants’ guardians, please provide the contact details in Annex 1.
