The next edition of the “Young Entrepreneur” competition has begun, addressed to upper-secondary school students. The aim of the competition is to broaden knowledge of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, develop motivation to improve skills, and shape attitudes and entrepreneurial thinking.

According to Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Gospodarcze president Karol Stasik, achieving business success requires a good idea as well as such qualities as perseverance, determination and passion. “Upper-secondary schools primarily prepare students for the matura exam. It often happens that a young person finishes their education and does not know how to cope in a new situation,” says the head of BTG. “Our aim, however, is to give young people the opportunity to become self-employed and take matters into their own hands.”

The competition consists of two stages: in the first, participants prepare a written business plan and send it to the address of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Gospodarcze (6D Bankowa Street). The deadline for submitting business plans is February 15, 2011. The ten best business plans will qualify for the next stage of the competition, in which participants will present them before the jury.

The winners and their supervisors will receive prizes with a total value of PLN 2,500 (1st place: PLN 1,000, 2nd place PLN 700, 3rd place PLN 400, 4th place PLN 250, 5th place PLN 150). In addition, the winner of the first prize will receive a statuette funded by Zakłady Ceramiczne “Bolesławiec”.
