With deep sadness and concern, I would like to share with you the story of little Hania, a lovely 7-year-old girl who is currently battling a grade 4 malignant brain tumor. This is an extremely difficult and demanding situation for me, one that presents enormous challenges for her and our family.On March 12, 2024, everything happened very quickly. Hania was taken to hospital and then flown by helicopter to Warsaw with her mother. After arriving in Warsaw, she underwent brain tumor surgery, which carried enormous risks. The doctors gave us terrible news—Hania has a grade 4 malignant brain tumor. From that moment, her fight for life began.
After some time, Hania’s fight will involve treatment requiring intensive therapies, medical care and daily health-related challenges.
In addition, Hania is allergic to some chemotherapy ingredients, which makes the treatment even more complicated and requires an individual approach.
We are less than 500 km from the hospital where Hania receives treatment. She is in Warsaw, at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute. This is an enormous logistical challenge.
The treatment process will be long and demanding—it will last approximately 1.5 years. It will be a time full of uncertainty and fears, but also hope for an improvement in Hania’s health. Another operation cannot be ruled out. There is a risk of complications following the surgery, which further increases the uncertainty and fears.
I believe that together we can all help Hania in this difficult fight.
