Reader, a resident of Bolesławiec, informed us that road workers are installing speed bumps on Staszica Street.
Speed bumps are installed on streets mainly to improve road safety by forcing drivers to reduce their speed, especially in places where pedestrians frequently travel, such as near schools, parks or residential estates. Slowing down car traffic reduces the risk of accidents and, if they do occur, potentially limits their consequences. Speed bumps are one of many traffic-calming measures intended to raise the overall level of safety and comfort for road users. In addition, they improve the quality of life of the local community by reducing noise and exhaust emissions associated with high speeds.
Will it be safer there as a result? We invite you to join the discussion.
