At the “Not Obvious” exhibition organized by Książnica Karkonoska in Jelenia Góra, visitors can see, among other works, pieces by a resident of Bolesławiec, Paulina Stefańczyk, owner of Lady Blue Ceramics, which produces original Bolesławiec pottery. The opening took place on April 10.
This is not the exhibition’s only Bolesławiec connection. Visitors can also see works by Joanna Mysłek-Michnowska.
Paulina Stefańczyk – born in 1970 in Liberec. She currently lives in Bolesławiec. She collaborates with artists and engages in charitable activities.
Her projects are based on an understanding of human feelings and needs. This is a source of inspiration that provides aesthetic value while also touching on history and a range of experiences. Her style of designing decorations on Bolesławiec pottery could be seen at group exhibitions – Because stamps never fail!
Joanna Mysłek-Michnowska – graduated from the State School of Fine Arts in Jelenia Góra. She subsequently graduated from the Department of Ceramic and Glass Design at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław.
For 29 years, she has run her own ceramics studio and taught drawing and painting classes for children, young people and adults at the Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec.
She takes part in the activities of local artists. She organizes outdoor art sessions and workshops for participants in her classes. She finds fulfillment in teaching; she is inspired by children’s art and contact with her students.
She also expresses herself creatively through painting and ceramics. She paints mandalas and abstract works.
In ceramics, the artist is particularly interested in bas-relief, on whose surface she experiments with combining glass, pigments and glazes.
Dariusz Godawa, the exhibition’s initiator – born in 1967, a resident of Jelenia Góra, and a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Jelenia Góra and the Artistic School in Nysa. His creative output includes a dozen or so solo and group exhibitions, as well as several arrangements and projects involving restaurant, sports and residential facilities. At present, he has no reason to complain of boredom, as this exhibition proves.
