A Reader wrote to us:
I would like to raise the issue of the sidewalk along Staroszkolna Street (the section from Gałczyńskiego Street to the bypass).
And he added that about a month ago we reported that the project was essentially finished. He also noted:
Today, the sidewalk still has not been completed. There is no asphalt on the section from Gałczyńskiego Street to the bypass... And right before the tunnel under the bypass, construction of the sidewalk has not even begun. I am attaching photos taken this morning (March 20, 2024).
The matter was explained during the March meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council by starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak:
The sidewalk surface and finishing work remain to be completed. Why? The power utility asked us to lay an additional power cable for the allotment gardens along this sidewalk. That is why we changed the schedule.
He added that the project is essentially finished—the county authorities are now only waiting for the final asphalt layers to be laid. He also said that the County Roads Authority took the opportunity to improve the entrance for allotment gardeners.
