– A high standard of education has always been the most important thing both for Bolesławiec County and for me personally. We have secured another major grant: over PLN 4 million, which will be allocated to teacher training, but also – equally importantly – to raising the standard of education through additional lessons in subjects that are key for students at our secondary schools – says Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak.
Reality is changing before our eyes, and technology is developing ever faster. Therefore, recognising the need to update knowledge and adapt education to the dynamically evolving labour market, Bolesławiec County will implement another important educational project. The aim? To improve the quality and attractiveness of the educational offer of vocational secondary schools in Bolesławiec County.
All county schools providing vocational education will take part in the project:
- Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych,
- Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych,
- Zespół Szkół Budowlanych,
- Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych,
- Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych.
The plan is for half of the students at each of the above-mentioned institutions to take part in the additional classes, making a total of more than 1,500 people.
There will be classes developing key competences, qualification courses ending with certification, as well as educational and career guidance programmes, both group and individual. Teachers have not been forgotten either – professional development in vocational education is planned for the teaching staff.
– This is another project of this kind to be implemented in our county. I think it will significantly raise the standard of education, but above all increase the chances of graduates of county schools on the labour market – adds County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak.
The project is worth over PLN 6.2 million. Funding from European Union sources: almost PLN 4.4 million.
