The incident occurred during the night of February 17–18 this year in Jelenia Góra. – That same night, the men stole a Fiat worth 1,000 zlotys and then drove it into a grocery store on the outskirts of the city, from which they took sweets worth 4 zlotys – reports junior constable Paweł Noga from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.

He adds: – It turned out that their target was the theft of a donation jar collecting money for a sick resident of Karkonosze County. They were unlucky, as it had been handed over for the person’s treatment the day before.

After being notified of the crime, police officers began searching for the men who had committed these acts. Based on the information collected in the case and an analysis of surveillance-camera footage, they identified and then arrested two residents of Jelenia Góra, aged 26 and 30.

The spokesperson: – The suspects have been charged in this case. They will now face court for the acts they are suspected of, and could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
