And adds: – It operates during the centre’s working hours in the building of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre at 53 Asnyka Street. It can be used from Monday to Friday to collect or deliver food.

People who decide to share food should remember a few important rules. Meals and food products must be properly protected and suitable for consumption. Products that encourage the growth of microorganisms, such as fresh meat and eggs, should not be brought, nor should items unsuitable for storage in refrigeration appliances, such as pasta, groats and flour.

The distinctive green-and-red community fridge in Nowogrodziec is one of five launched by the Cukier Królewski brand as part of the “Bake, Reuse, Share” campaign and the accompanying initiative carried out under the slogan “Where kindness reigns, nothing goes to waste”, partnered by the WeźPomóż Foundation. The other community food-sharing points operate in Wrocław, Zdzieszowice, Długołęka and Walim. Their purpose is to help people in crisis and support the local community in preventing food waste.
