156 women and men from Godzieszów signed a petition to the mayor of Nowogrodziec. The village residents are calling for the removal from the agenda of the session of the item concerning the adoption of a resolution on the sale of the former primary school building. The draft resolution had been prepared for a vote at the session on 23 February.
The residents are demanding that public consultations on the matter be organized as soon as possible. In the petition, they write about “hiding the non-tender sale procedure for the property from the residents of Godzieszów.” The petition’s justification states that “the residents’ main concern is the person of the businessman priest.”
The building is to be purchased by the St. Christopher Foundation, whose president is Fr. Krzysztof Kiełbowicz. The women and men of Godzieszów who signed the petition want the priest to provide a reliable explanation of his past activities in Bolesławiec.
Arkadiusz Szczęsny is handling the residents’ case. The residents plan to attend the February session.
On 16 February, we sent an official inquiry to the mayor of Nowogrodziec requesting a copy of the valuation document for the municipal property located in Godziszów, within plot no. 451/1, covering an area of 0.0922 hectares, which the commune intends to sell to the St. Christopher Foundation from Lwówek Śląski. We also asked whether the planned sale concerns the connecting passage and the gymnasium adapted as a village community center as well, or only the school building. We are awaiting a response.
