Representatives of Młodzież Wszechpolska, Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów, Federacja Młodych Socjaldemokratów, Kół Europejskich and the Youth City Council took part in the meeting, which was organized in the county office building.

Is the newly established Partia Centrum a threat to Platforma Obywatelska? Is there no better candidate for prime minister within Platforma than Jan Maria Rokita? If the new European treaty is adopted, should Platforma commit suicide (referring to Platforma’s earlier slogan, “Nicea albo śmierć”—“Nice or death”—editor’s note)? These were just some of the questions asked during Friday’s debate.

Młodzież Wszechpolska and Federacja Młodych Socjaldemokratów asked the most questions. Friday’s guest tried to answer all of them, although some proved difficult. For example, he did not want to answer who Platforma’s candidate would be in the presidential election.

Asked whether Platforma still wanted to die for Nicea, he replied that this statement had been relevant during the drafting of the European Constitution, but no longer had the same significance. Jacek Protasiewicz tried to explain that the European Constitution was not a constitution in the full sense of the word, but another treaty regulating the functioning of the European Union.

In general, Jacek Protasiewicz’s answers were long-winded and often strayed from the point of the question.

At the end of the debate, a verbal clash broke out between Młodzież Wszechpolska and the Young Democrats. The flashpoint was a statement by one of the Young Democrats that Młodzież Wszechpolska often breaks the law. Młodzież Wszechpolska demanded specific examples.

During the heated exchange, both sides began threatening each other with court action. At one point, the atmosphere became unpleasant when a member of Młodzież Wszechpolska suggested that his opponent would like to have a gay couple as parents. The debate moderators eventually decided to interrupt the heated exchange. There was no time left for further questions...
