Despite rising inflation, material costs and other cost factors, the company has managed to maintain heat prices, which are among the lowest in the region (based on data available at www.ure.gov.pl: heat price PLN 86.46/GJ; price for ordered heat capacity – PLN 112,171.57/MW/year). One of the main reasons for the company’s favorable situation was the positive negotiations conducted with Polska Grupa Górnicza concerning a reduction in the purchase price of coal fines and the maintenance of regular supplies. Coal fines from PGG are a Polish, high-calorific fuel of very good quality.

It should be added that the gases and dust generated during the heat production process are discharged at a height of more than 40 m after being cleaned using a two-stage dust removal system (multicyclones and a battery of cyclones) that meets environmental protection requirements. The low price of heat is also influenced by the company’s sound management policy. The very high competence of ZEC employees has made it possible to carry out many repair and modernization works independently, including maintenance work on the chimney, repairs to boiler grates, slag removers, installations and the heating network, among others.

ZEC has also implemented solutions improving the operation of equipment affecting the heat production and flue-gas discharge processes.

“The work carried out by our employees enabled the company to achieve significant savings amounting to several hundred thousand zlotys. By achieving a positive result from its operations for the second consecutive year, ZEC confirms, on the one hand, that the company’s management and development are heading in the right direction and, on the other, demonstrates the high commitment of employees at every level,” says President Jarosław Kowalski.

It should also be added that the district heating offered by ZEC is currently one of the cheapest, safest and most convenient forms of heating. Taking into account EU directives and the EU’s pursuit of climate neutrality, ZEC Bolesławiec is preparing for the transformation process and a future transition to other heat sources.

ZEC Bolesławiec invites additional Housing Communities located near the heating main in the old-town area (including Rynek and B. Prusa streets) to connect their residential buildings to the district heating system.
