As reported by the Jelenia Góra police:
Today (January 30, 2024), at approximately 6:20 a.m., a fatal road accident occurred in Sosnówka on Karkonoska Street.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 60-year-old driver of a specialist waste-collection vehicle most likely ran over a 25-year-old man while reversing. The man was also an employee of the company. The driver was sober.
Procedural activities were carried out at the scene with the participation of a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, a road traffic expert and a representative of the National Labour Inspectorate.
Police and prosecutors are currently investigating all the circumstances of the tragic incident in detail.
