Priest Józef Gołębiowski was born on September 1, 1941. He was ordained a priest on June 21, 1969, in Wrocław
After his priestly ordination, he served at the parish of St. Joseph the Worker in Wałbrzych, St. Hedwig of Silesia in Złotoryja, St. Anne in Ząbkowice Śląskie, St. Michael the Archangel in Wrocław-Muchobór Wielki, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas in Bolesławiec, and as parish priest and church builder at the Christ the King Parish in Bolesławiec (1983–2016).
He was chaplain to Bolesławiec’s “Solidarity,” supported the opposition during martial law, and was awarded the Medal of the Centenary of Regaining Independence. In 2018, he received the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity. In 2020, the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In 2021, the Cross for Merits to Independence. He also received the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Bolesławiec. He spent the final years of his life at the Home for Retired Priests. He died last night at a hospital in Legnica.

After the Mass, the rest of the funeral ceremony will take place at the municipal cemetery on Śluzowa Street in Bolesławiec
