As the mayor of Nowogrodziec informed followers on his social media profile:

Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A.’s Real Estate Management Branch in Wrocław asked the municipality to consider purchasing the railway station in Nowogrodziec. As you know, for several years we have been trying to secure the necessary renovation of the PKP railway station in Zebrzydowa.

TVW I will provide a positive response regarding the purchase of the railway station in the coming days, as we are working to restore passenger services from Jelenia Góra via Gościszów and Nowogrodziec to Zebrzydowa. The chance for trains to return to the tracks is the takeover of the railway line by the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship from Wleń to Jelenia Góra, along with the planned renovation.

The mayor invited residents to a discussion. One of the critical comments came from the VE-TO association:

Are you saying that during your 20-year term in office, the fate of this building was irrelevant to you and it fell into ruin? The railway line became overgrown with bushes, and no one took any interest in it (emphasis – istotne.pl). The connection operated by KD was not maintained. And when the party of which you were a supporter and, apparently, deputy chairman of the Lower Silesian structures was in power, you found no way to persuade those in government to revitalize the infrastructure and restart the connection? On the eve of the election, you heard that your rival had an idea for this building, so a photo was quickly taken and the plans were described carelessly? Great, excellent—we do not need to worry about the result.

What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.
