Update 13:19

The van’s owner on the zrzutka.pl website:

I have no other choice but to at least try to raise money for a new vehicle. My sanctuary van was robbed and set on fire last night!!!!!! I used it almost every day to bring hay, feed, vegetables, as well as firewood, building materials and parts for building houses or pens, and sometimes even to transport animals in need. It burned down completely; all that remains is the wreck, which will be removed by a tow truck on Monday. Unfortunately, running the Sanctuary without a vehicle, especially a delivery van, is simply impossible. I bought the van that fell victim to this attack with my own money. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds at the moment, and I need a vehicle immediately. I am asking very much for any amount—one złoty, five, ten... There is strength in numbers.

She adds:

I bought it with my own money when I decided to have a Sanctuary.

The vehicle was not parked today at the property, where I have surveillance cameras, by the way. I arrived yesterday evening and decided it would be more sensible to leave the vehicle at the beginning of the dirt road rather than struggle through the snowdrifts, since the thaw has already begun and it was difficult to get out. It is a quiet area, a little-used country road, with houses nearby. At around 12 or 1 or even 2 a.m., nothing had happened yet; I would have seen the glow because I went to bed exceptionally late. In the morning, someone called to ask what was going on, saying that a burned-out van was standing by the road. I thought it was a misunderstanding, but I went there. Of course, the police and fire brigade were there (it was still smoldering a little); a tow truck will come tomorrow.

I am in terrible shock. Many strange situations have happened to me in my life, including various break-ins and thefts—but setting someone’s vehicle on fire... I simply cannot comprehend it.
