A desperate reader wrote to us.

“Instead of buying something for my children, I have to pay PLN 1,000 for electricity every month and a half. My neighbor has an even higher bill—PLN 1,600 every two months. A man from MZGM came on Friday (November 24—editor’s note) and said that the meter was running too fast. I signed a paper confirming that they had visited me. Then a man from Tauron came to replace my meter and told me to submit an application to Tauron for access to the main electrical box. He said that if someone was drawing electricity, it would be charged to Tauron, not to me. We cannot even see the main box, although, as the MZGM electrician said, it may be possible to connect to it.”

Kazimierz Łomotowski from MZGM explained that each resident of the estate has an individual contract with Tauron, independent of MZGM. He added that estate residents sometimes heat their homes with old types of electrical appliances, which may consume a great deal of electricity. The desperate women want to seek help from President Piotr Roman.
