We had known for a long time about the controversies surrounding the parish priest of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas. In March 2023, we began filming a movie with 26-year-old influencer Adrian Drankowski, who had cared for Rev. Jarosiewicz’s mother for several years and was sometimes seen taking walks with the parish priest in Bolesławiec. A photo also circulated online showing Adrian sitting in a jacuzzi with Rev. Jarosiewicz.

In the autumn of that year, the bishop opened an explanatory proceeding following a report from the faithful. On October 10, we received the following message from the spokesperson for the Diocese of Legnica.

I have received information from Bishop Andrzej that, in connection with material published in the media from a meeting held as part of the Freedom Games, where information was given about the “indecent behavior of a priest from Bolesławiec,” consultations are under way regarding which priest this might concern, which parish, and specifically what matter. Anyone who has knowledge of the “indecent behavior of a priest” or possesses any related materials is asked to inform Bishop Andrzej or the Legnica Bishop’s Curia.

It is possible that the investigation initiated by the bishop concerned Rev. Jarosiewicz and resulted in the parish priest’s resignation. The official reason, however, is the priest’s burnout, about which he wrote to the faithful on November 29.

On November 16 this year, I turned to the Bishop of Legnica with a request to dismiss me from my position as parish priest of the parish (...) I justified my request by saying that after 18 years of very difficult pastoral service, during which I also had to undertake extremely challenging renovation and conservation work, I feel internally burned out. Therefore, I asked the Bishop of Legnica for easier pastoral duties that would help me joyfully spread the Gospel and serve the Church community.

The film “Who Is Adrian?”

The film tells the story of a young man from a small town who dreams of the great fashion world. It shows the 26-year-old’s determination to achieve his goal, but also reveals some of his secrets. Adrian never admitted to having any relationship with Rev. Jarosiewicz other than a friendship.

The film premiered on December 10, 2023.
