At one of the car parks in Bolesławiec County, illegal trade in pork carcasses was carried out for several months. Police: – The employee, who transported goods from Belgium to Kraków, found an additional source of income. The man arranged with a resident of Bolesławiec County to sell goods obtained through criminal means.
He added: – The employer noticed discrepancies in the quantity of goods he had purchased and the quantity that reached him. Having certain suspicions, he checked his employee and confirmed that he was being robbed. He called Bolesławiec police officers to the “transaction” site.
The officers arrested a 52-year-old resident of Małopolskie Voivodeship and a 41-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.
Working with a representative of the Kraków company and based on the evidence collected, it was established that the employee had been stealing from the company since June 2022, acting in the same way each time and having the same recipient for the stolen goods.
In total, the 52-year-old stole nearly 90 pork half-carcasses worth more than PLN 45,000.
During a dozen or so meetings at the car park, the company employee transferred half-carcasses from a special meat-transport trailer to the receiver of stolen goods, who loaded them into his car.
Both arrested men have already been charged. The receiver of stolen goods claims that he bought the half-carcasses for his own use. The police command said: – The offer was very attractive because it was less than half the market price.
The 52-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison. The receiver of stolen goods may spend as many as five years behind bars.
