The meeting with participants and invited guests was opened by the Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak, who emphasized that accessibility is not only a fundamental right, but also an expression of concern for the equality and dignity of people with disabilities.
Next, representatives of PFRON—Director of the Lower Silesian PFRON Branch Agnieszka Kalinowska and Independent Specialist for Complaints Regarding Lack of Accessibility—Sławomir Zajączkowski discussed issues related to accessibility, types of barriers, and the right to accessibility. Thanks to the training, participants also learned how to correctly submit a request to a public entity to ensure accessibility and how the complaints process concerning failure to ensure it proceeds.
The training was attended, among others, by representatives of the Association of the Deaf in Bolesławiec, the Bolesławiec Amazons, the Association of the Blind in Bolesławiec, the Active Rehabilitation Foundation, the Association of People with Disabilities, the Society of Friends of Children, Blind People on Tandems, and the County Social Council for People with Disabilities.
