On October 9–10, the International Orienteering Competition was held, organized by UKS Tukan Iwiny and the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec. A total of 227 runners from seven countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Italy and France) took part in the competition. The youngest participant was 7 years old, while the oldest was 71. Among the competitors were, among others, European and world championship medalists.

Two races were held on Saturday. The first of them, held in Wilczy Las, provided plenty of excitement and surprises. One of the biggest was the 11th-place finish of Wojciech Kowalski of WKS Śląsk Wrocław, the military world runner-up.

That same day, a race was held in central Bolesławiec as part of the Lower Silesian Sprint Orienteering Championships and the Inter-Voivodeship Youth Championships. The best competitors were presented with awards by Tadeusz Patejko, president of the Polish Orienteering Association, Mayor Piotr Roman and MOSiR head Dariusz Jośko.

On Sunday, the competitors raced over the classic distance. Youth and elite-category runners had to cover 11.6 km in a straight line and find 33 control points.
