Police officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 54-year-old man suspected of a series of burglaries.
Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer for the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters, explains:
After his father’s death, the man repeatedly used his payment card, which he had no right to use. Between April and December 2018, the 54-year-old used it 115 times. He withdrew cash from the account and paid for various purchases. In total, he withdrew nearly PLN 30,000 from his deceased father’s account, thereby acting to the detriment of one of the banks.
And she adds:
After being notified of a series of burglaries to the detriment of one of the banks and of a man suspected of committing these acts, uniformed officers gathered evidence that allowed charges to be brought against him in the case.
The Jelenia Góra resident now faces up to 10 years in prison.
