Hradec Kralove, a picturesque Czech city, once again hosted the Taekwondo WTF tournament – Sokol Cup. The competition was held on Saturday (9 October). Nearly 170 male and female competitors from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland took part in this year's event, including the younger athletes of UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec.

During this year's Sokol Cup, the eleven-member UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec – Taekwondo WTF team won 7 medals. However, the greatest recognition goes to the gold medal won by Wiktoria Knapczyk in the girls' category (youngster) – 33 kg. Wiktoria stormed through both the elimination and semifinal stages, winning the final against a competitor from the host club by a lead of several points.

Silver medals were won by: Bruno Owczarek, Marcin Skiba and Mateusz Boczarski. Bronze medals went to: Michał and Mateusz Pytliński as well as Jakub Gwiżdż. The competition in Hradec Kralove was a test ahead of the upcoming Inter-Voivodeship Championships for Youngsters.

Bronze for Krzysztof Jasiński in Warsaw

Also on Saturday, the 17th Polish Open in Taekwondo was held at Warsaw's Sennicka Hall, with Bolesławiec's sole representative, Krzysztof Jasiński, taking part. The Bolesławiec athlete competed in the up-to-54 kg category. Krzysztof won a bronze medal in his weight category, losing only in the semifinal to Belarusian competitor Andrei Svirskiy, who finished second. Korean athlete Kim Jin Gon won gold in Krzysztof's category.
