Bolesławiec police officers caught two men (aged 36 and 31) red-handed. They are suspected of extorting loans and mobile phones. The fraudsters were caught when they tried to obtain a PLN 500 loan using a forged employment certificate.

The detainees had been carrying out their scheme since spring this year. Police proved that they had extorted nearly PLN 2,000 in loans and seven mobile phones. Moreover, it was established that the suspects had nine other extortion attempts to their name.

Investigators estimate that the two detainees may have extorted as much as PLN 50,000. They now face up to eight years in prison.
