Since the morning, disturbing reports have been appearing in the nationwide media about the resignation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak and the resignation of the Operational Commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces Gen. Tomasz Piotrowski.
On 10 October 2023, at 4:00 p.m., at the Presidential Palace, the President of the Republic of Poland and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Andrzej Duda, made changes to the highest command positions in the Polish Armed Forces.
The new Chief of the General Staff became the incumbent General Commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces Gen. Wiesław Kukuła. Meanwhile, the incumbent commander of the Territorial Defence Forces, Gen. Maciej Klisz, became the new Operational Commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces
