What About Autoport Godzieszów? The Municipality Has Responded

On the social media profile of the VE-TO Association, a post was published at the end of September:

We have learned of another complaint concerning the actions of the mayor of Nowogrodziec. This is not our complaint, but one filed by residents of Godzieszów. (…) Several months ago, on the Facebook social networking site, and also during the session at which the report on the condition of the municipality was presented, we reported that people felt dissatisfied with the lack of “public debate”; at the time, the mayor stated that there was no such problem and that he spoke with residents.

The matter concerns Autoport Godzieszów. The complaint in question states that at a village meeting on August 8, “Mayor Robet RELICH (...) promised (...) all the residents gathered that he would urgently address this real threat.” According to the author of the complaint, since then the mayor “has not deigned to ‘lift a finger’” in the matter.

According to reports from the VE-TO Association, the author of the complaint also filed a notification with the prosecutor’s office concerning a suspected crime of “official neglect”.

We asked the Municipality of Nowogrodziec about the matter. Mayor Robert Relich:

In response to your questions of September 25, 2023, I state as follows.

Unfortunately, answering questions 1–4 would be premature. The Municipal Council in Nowogrodziec is considering a complaint from a group of Godzieszów residents concerning alleged failures to act by the Mayor of Nowogrodziec. Until a resolution determining how the complaint is to be handled has been adopted, there is no basis for taking binding positions on the actions covered by the complaint. Once the Municipal Council has adopted the resolution, you will be able to obtain a copy after submitting an appropriate request. Furthermore, the resolution will be published on the BIP website.

Additionally, regarding the question of responding to the allegations in the notification to the prosecutor’s office, I also believe that it is not the role of the Municipality’s authorities to comment on such documents; the relevant authorities will make their assessment. It should merely be noted in passing that during my nearly 17 years serving as Mayor of Nowogrodziec, at least a dozen such notifications have been filed (many of them by the VE-TO Association), but none of them proved justified.
