The Government Legislation Centre has published a draft regulation of the Minister of National Defence on conducting military qualification in 2024. The date for announcing the qualification has been set for January 12. Military qualification will be conducted from February 1 to April 30, 2024.
Meanwhile, the sending of summonses to appear before the commission will begin in just a few weeks. Mayors and city presidents are responsible for this and for keeping records of people who are required to appear before the commission. County heads are to provide the premises where the qualification will be conducted.
Who will receive summonses?
As reported by Serwis Samorządowy PAP:
The following people will be subject to qualification: men born in 2005; men born between 2000 and 2004 who do not have an assigned fitness category for active military service; people who were deemed temporarily unfit for military service by county medical commissions in 2022 and 2023; women born between 1997 and 2005 who have qualifications useful for military service; people who have reached the age of 18 and volunteered for military qualification; and people with an unregulated status regarding military service, until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 60, if they do not have an assigned fitness category for active military service and report for military qualification.
