At around 12:00 p.m., clouds of gray smoke appeared over Bolesławiec, but it was not a fire—it was the technical start-up of the historic kiln at the Center of Former Pottery Techniques on Kutuzowa Street (until recently, the building of the Museum of Ceramics).
As Anna Bober-Tubaj, head of the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec, explained to us, this was the necessary first technical firing. The situation will therefore not be repeated, because the kiln in question will not operate as a utility appliance. It is possible, however, that it will be fired up once every two or three years for artistic events.
As the director of our museum emphasized, it certainly will not be the case that this institution will pollute the city.
Since there was no fire, however, why did the firefighters go to the site? We have also learned the answer to that question. These are simply the procedures.
