From 8 to 12 September, the European Under-21 Olympic Taekwondo (WTF) Championships were held in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Nearly 250 taekwondo athletes from 21 countries took part in the competition. Our city was represented by Krzysztof Jasiński, an athlete with the Ilyo Students’ Sports Club (competing in the up to 54 kg category).

Unfortunately, Krzysztof lost his bout to Joel Jackson of Great Britain, who later won the bronze medal at the championships. The defeat ended the Bolesławiec resident’s chances of winning a medal.

This was Krzysztof’s first appearance—after moving to a new age category—at an event of this rank. His preparations and participation in the European Youth Olympic Taekwondo Championships were co-financed by the Bolesławiec Municipal Office.
