On August 18, following the completion of construction, the Municipal Selective Waste Collection Point (PSZOK) at 22 Strzelecka Street in Nowogrodziec was opened.
The municipal government: – The project also included an educational trail for children, where a competition related to proper waste sorting was held. All the children who took part in the competition performed excellently, receiving applause and small gifts. Environmental education among the youngest children plays an important role—it helps shape an environmentally conscious attitude.
Those who participated in the ceremonial opening of the PSZOK had the opportunity to see the entire facility and its equipment. Total investment value: PLN 1,845,000; funding from the Polish Deal: PLN 1,752,750.

The PSZOK will collect recyclable materials and selectively store waste in labeled containers placed in the yard and shelters, as well as in a covered bay. The project aims to achieve the level of selective waste collection and management required by regulations. As part of the project, among other things, the site level was raised above the maximum elevation of the floodwater surface for a 1% flood risk; a concrete-surfaced yard with a total area of approximately 1,230 m2 was constructed, with containers for individual types of waste, together with a connection to the existing roadway; an educational trail was built; an office and staff container was installed; PSZOK equipment and fixtures were installed; a covered, lockable storage facility for portable equipment and a storage facility for hazardous waste were built; a covered shelter for containers was constructed; insulating vegetation was planted along the facility boundary; and other infrastructure was provided, including a drive-on vehicle scale.
