On August 19–20, an integration meeting for the Youth Fire Brigades from Zgorzelecki, Bolesławiecki and Złotoryjski counties was held at the OSP station in Stary Węgliniec.

As firefighter Roman Wiciak from OSP Stary Węgliniec reports:

The aim of the meeting was to foster integration among the young people and provide training in fire prevention, safe conduct around bodies of water, and the principles of safely providing first aid. In addition, the young participants could discover the beauty of the surrounding fauna and flora and learn about the advantages of living in the Heart of the Lower Silesian Forests.

More than 60 Youth Fire Brigade members took part in the training, which was conducted in numerous training subgroups.

Firefighter: “Officers from the KP PSP in Zgorzelec conducted classes using the mobile “OGNIK” educational room, while other training groups developed their skills in setting up a water supply point using tarpaulin water tanks.

He adds: “An important part of the training was learning and improving the principles of safely providing first aid, professionally demonstrated by our OSP’s longtime friend, Mr Andrzej Mańkowski.”

He further adds: “A pleasant part of the meeting during the training sessions was a visit from the Starost of Zgorzelecki County, Mr Artur Bieliński, and Member of the Zgorzelecki County Board, Ms Krystyna Radzięta, who completed the planned training ‘path’ and gave the young people gifts.

On the second day of training, the young firefighters were visited by Węgliniec mayor Mariusz Wieczorek, who provided the young people with a sweet training break.

The firefighters from Stary Węgliniec sum up:
