For the third consecutive year, Bolesławiec hosted the Polish Local Government Officials’ Sport Bridge Championship. Nearly 60 officials from across the country competed at the Prnjavor motel. First, an individual tournament for the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship’s Cup was held. Bolesławiec resident Sławomir Zimniak won gold, while Jarosław Molenda came second. Michał Chojara, mayor of Pniewy Commune, finished third.
Next came a pairs tournament for the Association of Polish Counties Cup, in which Anna Kowalska and Marek Tyran (Pabianice Commune) proved unbeatable. Second place went to Aleksy Swoboda and Krzysztof Sztajnert (Cieszyn County), while third place was taken by Jarosław Molenda and Artur Winkler (Bolesławiec County).
In the competition for the Bolesławiec Mayor’s Cup, the Pabianice-Bralin team won ahead of the Zgorzelec-Lubin and Bolesławiec teams (our team consisted of: Andrzej Kaźmierczak, Antoni Ochot, Artur Winkler and Jarosław Molenda).
The Bolesławiec representatives performed somewhat worse in the tournament for the Bolesławiec County Head’s Cup. The highest-placed pair was Dorota Kwintkiewicz and Sławomir Zimniak, who finished the competition in fifth place.
Marek Tyran from the Pabianice municipal office became the Polish local government officials’ champion, with Jarosław Molenda as runner-up. Third place went to Artur Wójcik of Bralin Commune. Sławomir Zimniak also finished in the top ten, taking seventh place.
The championship was organized by the Bolesławiec Bridge Club. The event received funding from Bolesławiec County and Bolesławiec Municipal Commune.
