This year, for the Glinioludów parade, we planned four models who were painted by four painters from "Ceramika Artystyczna" Spółdzielni Rękodzieła Artystycznego. Each painter chose one motif from her original design. Lucyna Lenkiewicz chose the iris, the royal flower. Zuza posed for the painter. Marta Matyjewicz painted Edyta with meadow-flower motifs. Ewelina Gałka painted the model Krzysztof with a nasturtium motif, while Edyta Rudzik transformed Maciej into a tiger.

Of the many models who sent us applications, we chose Maciek, who posed for Glina Show posters in 2018, and Krzysiek, who impressed us with his message:

As a native of Bolesławiec and a great fan of the city, I will be honored to help create Glina Show and take part in the Gliniada parade. I have lived abroad for several years, followed the development of the city of ceramics and promoted Bolesławiec among my friends. This year I decided to take an active part in Gliniada, and the opportunity to present body painting by local artists excites me even more!

The models we chose were also exceptional. Edyta works at Ceramika Artystyczna on a daily basis and very much wanted to try her hand at being painted. Zuza first applied to us as a volunteer for the Starostwo Powiatowe, and we later chose her to be painted.

Lucyna Lenkiewicz has loved drawing and sketching since childhood. From 1985 to 1988, she studied at the Vocational School Complex in Bolesławiec, on Komuny Paryskiej Street, in the ceramics program. She completed her vocational training at “Ceramika Artystyczna” (Cepelia), at the company’s former premises on Polna Street. In 1998, after receiving a positive assessment in a competition for a painter’s position, she was employed by Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego “Ceramika Artystyczna”. She began with production decoration and in 2001 moved to the unique designs department, where she worked as a designer and recreated unique and production decorations. Since May 2020, she has served as master of unique decoration and led a team recreating unique designs. She likes production decorations—orderly and composed according to specific rules—but prefers unique patterns. She most often reaches for floral motifs. She loves irises, which she considers royal flowers and which inspired the extremely popular U4157 pattern.

Ewelina Gałka has been associated with “Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego since 2001. Initially employed in the production painting department, she later moved to the unique-design painting department. Since 2015, she has also worked as a decoration designer, creating her own unique and production patterns. She had contact with ceramics from childhood because her mother, who was also involved in decorating vessels at the cooperative, often allowed her to watch the decorators at work. The search for original patterns that come together like a kaleidoscope into successive compositions continues to fascinate Ewelina Gałka and motivates her to pursue further design research. Her closest surroundings are her source of inspiration. It may be a pattern on fabric, a curtain or a flower. One idea leads to another.

Edyta Rudzik and Marta Matyjewicz are painters who were among the artists preparing the limited editions presented at this year’s ceramic garden of "Ceramika Artystyczna" Spółdzielni Rękodzieła Artystycznego.
