W Friday, August 18, the Ceramic Garden was opened for the seventeenth time at Ceramika Artystyczna – Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego.

Many distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including visitors from abroad. The peahens—that is, the company’s female employees—attracted attention as they presented outfits they had sewn themselves. (The costumes were created under the watchful eye of artist Maria Starzyk). There were also references to the fact that Bolesławiec had received the prestigious Europe Prize.

The president of the City of Ceramics, Piotr Roman, spoke: – The history of Bolesławiec ceramic production dates back to the Middle Ages. We Poles have managed to develop our own style based on tradition. I would like to sincerely thank Ceramika Artystyczna – Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego. It is impossible to imagine a better place to begin today’s celebrations.

He added: – Our ceramics are the work of human hands; thanks to these people, shapeless mass is transformed into things that everyone wants to have on their table. I have many friends who start their day with coffee drunk from a Bolesławiec mug.

He emphasized that he was proud of our ceramics. Like a peacock.

The ceremony was enhanced by a performance by dancers from the BOK–MCC contemporary dance studio, under the direction of Halina Bałacka-Kłak.
