4 hours and 20 minutes—that is how long the Koleje Dolnośląskie train journey from Wrocław to Szczecin, the capital of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, takes. This is the shortest rail connection on this route, launched by the regional carrier for the summer season. And, as it turns out, it is very popular—so far, nearly 4,500 passengers have used the service. On the Wrocław–Świnoujście route, an average of 350 people travel each time; on the return journey, just under 300. Koleje Dolnośląskie have planned an additional connection for the upcoming long weekend. The train will also run on 15 August.
“I am very pleased that the people of Lower Silesia have taken a liking to our summer proposal for a weekend trip to the seaside. But that is not the only benefit, because thanks to this connection, residents of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship are also coming to Lower Silesia. Encouraged by the comfort of travelling from the seaside, they also choose Koleje Dolnośląskie trains as their means of transport here, in our region,” says Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
Both during the weekend and on 15 August, the route will be served by a double trainset. However, passengers should remember to reserve their seats, as demand is high. Tickets can be purchased in the koleo app, at the KD Customer Service Office at Wrocław Główny railway station, and at ticket office no. 2 at the station in Legnica. A full-fare ticket on the Świnoujście–Wrocław Główny route costs PLN 79. For an additional fee and subject to available space, travellers may take their bicycles with them.
For everyone who has decided to spend the upcoming weekend in Lower Silesia, the carrier has prepared an equally appealing offer. The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket will be valid for as many as five days—from Friday, 12 August, at 6:00 p.m. until Wednesday, 16 August, at 6:00 a.m.
“Let us remember that for just PLN 59—extending the ticket’s validity for the long weekend does not change its price—we can travel any number of times throughout Lower Silesia,” points out Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is also valid on Polregio trains.
