Because of renovations at the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street, the young team from Bolesławiec played its final matches of the past season at the ground in Mierzwin. This was possible thanks to the courtesy of LKS Mierzwin, and especially its president – Ryszard Szczur. The BKS juniors, one of the youngest teams in the region, fought with full determination and commitment until the end of the competition and retained their place in the Provincial First League A1 Junior.

As coach Wojciech Młocek points out:

Several youth players made their debuts during the season. We were the youngest team in the league, and in every match most of the players in the starting lineup were, by age group, younger juniors.

Thus, in the 2023/2024 season, BKS senior juniors will continue competing on Lower Silesian pitches against strong teams from well-known football clubs such as Śląsk Wrocław, Chrobry Głogów, Miedź Legnica and Górnik Polkowice.

Before league competition begins, the team faces friendly matches as part of its preparations, a training camp and a first-round match in the Regional Polish Cup. The BKS juniors will most likely continue playing their matches in Mierzwin:

  • 29 July, Saturday, Karkonosze (younger juniors) – BKS,
  • 1 August, Tuesday, KS Jaroszowice (senior team) – BKS,
  • 2 August, Wednesday, BKS – Piast Zawidów (senior team), Regional Polish Cup,
  • 3 August, Thursday, Chrobry Nowogrodziec (senior team) – BKS,
  • 5–12 August – training camp,
  • 16 August, Wednesday, LKS Mierzwin (senior team) – BKS.

As we read on the Facebook profile of Akademia Piłkarska BKS Bolesławiec:

Coach Wojtek Młocek faces a difficult challenge, but we believe in our boys. Last season they already proved that they can compete on equal terms against the best teams in the league
