On Saturday, 8 July, at the market square in Bolesławiec, 68 trainees of voluntary basic military service undergoing basic training at the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment swore an oath on the unit’s colours.

The Bolesławiec unit reported on the event:

Emphasising the importance of the military oath for a soldier and the commitment contained in the words of the Oath, the regiment commander, acting Lieutenant Colonel Robert Wiese, thanked the trainees for their commitment during the training. He honoured those who stood out and achieved the highest training results with letters of commendation, and presented their parents with flowers.

The oath ceremony concluded with a parade of subunits, after which the soldiers marched through the city streets accompanied by the Military Band from Wrocław.

The ceremony was accompanied by a display of military equipment from the 23rd Artillery Regiment.
