Calls for applications for funding from the new EU budget are underway. This means that if you want to implement a project with the support of European funds, you can already submit your documents.
European Funds for Lower Silesia (FEDS) is the new regional programme that we will use in the coming years. The budget is substantial, exceeding €2.31 billion, or almost PLN 11 billion!
This money can be spent on investments in various areas of the social and economic life of our voivodeship. The first calls have already opened. You can find out who can submit documents, for what purposes and by when, on www.rpo.dolnyslask.pl, under the FEDS 2021–2027 tab.
Protecting nature and the climate
Soon, at the end of June, calls for applications will be announced for investments that will help protect nature and the climate. Landscape parks, the State Forests, local government units and other institutions and organisations concerned with protecting the natural environment can apply for funding, among other things, for projects aimed at protecting species and natural habitats or minimising the negative effects of human activity on protected areas. Approximately PLN 158 million is available, and applications can be submitted from 1 to 17 August.
Wałbrzych is changing
The Wałbrzych subregion can count on additional funds from the so-called Just Transition Fund. They can be spent, among other things, on creating new jobs, revitalising post-mining areas, thermal modernisation of buildings and developing the SME sector.
For example, from 3 to 12 July, the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Labour Office (DWUP) will accept applications for projects aimed at improving and developing competences in the field of the green transition. This somewhat mysterious term means that beneficiaries, such as labour-market institutions, SMEs and local governments, can apply for funding for activities enabling business development, the acquisition of new qualifications by employees or a change in the profile of business activity. The area covered by these tasks includes Wałbrzych and the following counties: Świdnica, Dzierżoniów, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko and Ząbkowice. The call is scheduled to be decided in November, and PLN 27.1 million is available for the individual projects. A little later, from 17 July to 2 August, another DWUP call will take place. This time, a much larger amount—almost PLN 163 million—is available for projects concerning social housing services and preventing exclusion from the labour market.
Funding can also be sought from the Lower Silesian Intermediate Body (DIP) for the expansion and modernisation of SMEs closely connected with the Wałbrzych subregion. Preference will be given to projects contributing to the creation of new jobs. Documents can be submitted from 5 July to 4 August, and more than PLN 135 million is available for distribution.
What lies ahead?
Later this year, other calls will also be announced, for example, for the development of cycling infrastructure and renovations increasing the energy efficiency of public and residential buildings. The schedule is available at www.rpo.dolnyslask.pl under the FEDS/programme documents tab.
