The holiday connection launched by Koleje Dolnośląskie, linking the capital of Lower Silesia with the cities of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, has proved a resounding success. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the beginning of its operation—the planned allocation of tickets for the upcoming services is selling out at an express pace. Therefore, the company decided to enlarge the formation so that more travelers could reach the upcoming Sea Days in Świnoujście.

– We are the region with the most historic monuments in Poland; we have uplands, lowlands and lakes, and until now the only thing we lacked was the sea. Thanks to Koleje Dolnośląskie, the sea will now be considerably closer. However, I am convinced that tourist traffic during the holiday season will be dynamic in both directions, because many residents of Pomerania will want to visit the beautiful Sudetes and Karkonosze – says Marshal Cezary Przybylski.

The popularity of the new rail connection is undoubtedly influenced by the speed and comfort of the journey. The route from Świnoujście to Wrocław, running via Międzyzdroje, Szczecin (Dąbie), Zielona Góra, Głogów, Lubin and Legnica, takes a total of 5 hours and 30 minutes. Passengers travel in the newest five-car electric vehicles in the Koleje Dolnośląskie fleet, the Elf2 type.

– The Lower Silesian Voivodeship is very close to us, because for many years residents of this voivodeship have chosen Świnoujście as their holiday destination. We fully support every action that can make communication between us easier – says Janusz Żurkiewicz, President of Świnoujście.

The decision to launch the holiday route is another milestone in the dynamic development of the company, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

– Thanks to the marshal’s involvement, we were able to purchase new, eco-friendly vehicles. Thanks to them, we can transport Lower Silesians to Świnoujście. We also provide the fastest journey time among our competitors. Due to the high demand, we are joining two trains—they will have a total of 10 cars, and more than 400 people will travel by them to the seaside – says Damian Stawikowski, President of Koleje Dolnośląskie.

The KD Premium Nadmorski train runs on summer weekends (and will additionally operate on the public holiday celebrated on August 15). It will depart from Wrocław Główny for the seaside every Saturday at 5:40 a.m., arriving in Świnoujście at 11:10 a.m. From Świnoujście, it will run on Sundays from 4:40 p.m. to 10:07 p.m.

This connection is a real treat for Pomerania residents, who gain the fastest rail access to the monument-rich voivodeship in southern Poland. Lower Silesia is a true treasure trove of history and architecture, with beautiful castles, palaces and churches. The Barycz Valley, the Stołowe Mountains and the Karkonosze offer wonderful opportunities for nature lovers and enthusiasts of active recreation. Lower Silesia is also a mecca for culture and art lovers, with extraordinary museums, festivals and artistic events.

All seats on the train must be reserved. A standard ticket for the Świnoujście–Wrocław Główny and Szczecin Dąbie–Wrocław Główny routes costs PLN 79. For an additional fee and subject to availability, passengers may take a bicycle with them. Tickets can be purchased exclusively through the Koleo platform.
