Dear Editorial Team,

I would like to use your Editorial Team to address the Councillors of the Town and Gmina of Nowogrodziec. I should point out that I am not politically involved and am writing as a resident of the gmina, which I simply care about. Local government elections will be held in a year, and so far the campaign in Nowogrodziec is slowly getting under way. I am only wondering why, before the respected Councillors start “running around like cats with their tails on fire” with lists of endorsements and telling stories about what they will do and how wonderful everything will be, I am also wondering where those Councillors have disappeared to. Are they alive? Does Nowogrodziec have councillors? Where are they??? I have the impression that during the current term, which has been turbulent, you have done very little, or even absolutely nothing. Are you interested in the gmina, the problems of the local community and the problems in your electoral districts?

Has any of you taken an ordinary, human, practical interest in the fact that the town does not even have proper pavements, that there are holes in the road and nobody is concerned about them—and this is only the foundation of what matters most? The infrastructure in Nowogrodziec is in ruins. Please, Councillors, walk along Mickiewicza Street. How is a parent with a pram or a wheelchair user supposed to get around there? Have the Councillors shown even the slightest interest in the pavement on this or any other street? No... after all, the Councillors of Nowogrodziec Gmina are not there for that—they are there to collect their salaries and allowances and quarrel among themselves, while the gmina is a picture of misery and despair. Has any of the respected Councillors intervened regarding the condition of the surface of Szpitalna Street? There is a hole in the middle of the road—nobody cares. I appeal to the entire Gmina Council, and I repeat, the entire Council, to get to work. We, the residents, have had enough of fairy tales.

What did the previous chairperson of the Gmina Council achieve? What has the current chairperson achieved? What have you done for this town and gmina? Constant quarrelling is the entire result of your actions. The real results can be seen below in the photos—this is what a pavement in the centre of a European town looks like. Everyone knows that the mayor has long since ceased to be someone we can count on, but where is the Gmina Council?

Below are photos of the pavement on Mickiewicza Street, one of the longest streets in the town. This is only one example of what the town looks like, and nobody is interested in it—although the Councillors probably should be...

Please, Ladies and Gentlemen—get to work and show that you care at least a little...!
