Friday’s match in Nowogrodziec was played for a stake which, for Chrobry, meant retaining the lead in the regional league table and moving closer to promotion to the Lower Silesian fourth division. Chrobry won the match, but the visitors from Lwówek Śląski did not make it easy for them. In the 22nd minute, Krystian Smolarek put the hosts ahead. Towards the end of the first half, in the 39th minute, Czarni goalkeeper Dawid Podskarbi was shown a red card for dangerous play outside the penalty area. However, the ten-man team from Lwówek started the second half better. In the 59th minute, Filip Godlewski equalised, confidently converting a penalty. Six minutes later, Czarni took a 2–1 lead through a goal by Ireneusz Grabkowski. Going two goals behind spurred the hosts into action. Chrobry’s victory allowed the team to move into first place in the table. However, who will be promoted to the fourth division will be determined by the result of today’s match involving the other promotion contender, KS Łomnica. Łomnica will host Nysa Zgorzelec, and if it draws or loses, Chrobry Nowogrodziec will be able to celebrate promotion. If Łomnica wins, it will secure promotion.
