The Polish Biathlon Association and Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu Polana Jakuszycka are organizing the Polish Cup in summer biathlon. In Poland, the summer version of biathlon combines running with shooting. It consists of a cross-country run without a weapon over a specified distance, during which competitors visit the shooting range two or four times, taking a standing or prone position and firing five shots each time. Competitions are held for women and men in various age categories.
The first World Summer Biathlon Championships were held in 1996 in Hochfilzen, Austria. Until 2009, they took the form of cross biathlon—shooting combined with cross-country running. Since 2006, they have been held on roller skis. The competitions are organized by the International Biathlon Union.
During your visit to the Polish Cup competitions, Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu offers guests its services. The #NaPolanie restaurant offers a varied menu. Delicious food and beautiful views make an ideal combination. The restaurant windows overlook Polana Jakuszycka, which delights visitors in every season. The Spa Centre features a 17-metre swimming pool, gym, sauna and spa area.
