The race organized by Koleje Dolnośląskie is an exceptional idea for spending time in the region. In addition to the pleasure of traveling by train through picturesque Lower Silesia, attractive prizes worth more than PLN 4,000 in total are up for grabs. They include useful items for every journey, such as suitcases and wireless headphones.
– With this initiative, we are beginning our joint celebration of KD’s 15th anniversary and the promotion of our beautiful region. June is the perfect time for railway races – says Damian Stawikowski, president of the management board of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
How can you take part in the race?
The rules of the competition are very simple. In June, simply buy a “Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket” in any way and plan your routes well in order to cover as many kilometers as possible. During the journeys, the ticket must be scanned each time after boarding and just before leaving the train, while recording the specific routes. Their lengths can be determined, for example, using the Passenger Portal.
Importantly, the race takes place during the hours when the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is valid and exclusively on board Koleje Dolnośląskie trains.

When does the race start and what are the rules?
The competition begins on June 2 and will last all month. We can take part by choosing any weekend during which we want to count the kilometers we have traveled.
The competition is intended exclusively for adults. Younger participants may also take part in the race, but only under the supervision of an adult who will scan the ticket on their behalf and enter the competition. Groups may not participate in the competition.
The results from individual weekends are not added together. The three people who cover and document the greatest number of kilometers in June, while also visiting the most stations, will win. In the race, points are also awarded for route diversity. To promote its new routes, Koleje Dolnośląskie is also awarding a bonus for visiting Chocianów, Wołów and Stronie Śląskie.
