The Innovation and Inventiveness Olympiad is a prestigious event organized by the Polish Association of Inventors and Rationalizers, promoting creativity, technical skills and the spirit of invention. As part of the Olympiad, participants can compete against the best in the country in fields such as mathematics, physics and chemistry.
The competitions include solving advanced mathematical problems, conducting physics experiments, chemical research and more. Students also tackle programming and algorithmics tasks. These may involve creating software and solving problems using various programming languages and technologies.
Engineering competitions involve designing and building prototypes of various devices, machines or structures, as well as issues related to electronics, mechanics, robotics and more. In turn, the scope of biology and medical sciences tasks includes solving problems and conducting experiments related to biology, genetics, medicine, biotechnology and more.
The students of Bolesławiec’s “Elektronik” chose three disciplines that are especially popular: inventiveness and patent law, computer science and telecommunications, and programming. Three ZSE students in Bolesławiec reached the third-level competition in the Programming Block of the National Final, achieving the highest team result in Poland. Thus, they won first place as a team for the Lower Silesian District in the OIT in Telecommunications and Information Technology, in the Programming Block. Our school was represented by: Hubert Kopania from class 1P (finalist and laureate), Oleksii Ivanov from class 1P (laureate) and Maciej Zmitrukiewicz from class 4 Tg (laureate).
In programming competitions, students solve tasks requiring logical thinking, an algorithmic approach to problems, and knowledge of specific technologies and programming languages, including Python, Java, C++ and JavaScript.
Participants in the programming block have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in various areas of computer science, such as dynamic programming, data structures, graphs, sorting algorithms and artificial intelligence. The competitions require them to solve problems quickly and effectively, working under time pressure.
Two students from class 3T also achieved great success in the National Final of the OIT in Telecommunications and Information Technology, in the Teletechnical Block. Wiktor Oszczęda received the title of Olympiad Finalist, while Mateusz Różnicki received the title of Olympiad Laureate.
The Innovation and Inventiveness Olympiad focuses on developing students’ technological skills and creative thinking. Participation can be an excellent opportunity for young IT talents to present their potential, gain knowledge and experience, and connect with other enthusiasts of modern technologies. Congratulations to the students on receiving the titles of finalists and laureates, as well as the most important title, “Young INNOVATOR in Information Technology and Telecommunications.”
It is worth emphasizing that every finalist is exempt from the written part of the vocational examination because they receive 100%, while laureates receive the maximum number of points qualifying them to apply for full-time and part-time first-cycle studies in the following faculties:
