In Bolesławiec, work is underway to modernize all energy-intensive road-lighting fixtures. The new road lighting is intended to be modern, efficient and, above all, energy-saving. Meanwhile, residents of various parts of the city are becoming increasingly irritated by the ongoing replacement of the lighting and report to us that some of the new street lamps do not work. The situation affects various streets across the city. People complain that this is a so-called opportunity for thieves. Other street lamps work, but during the day...

We remind you that the replacement of lighting fixtures in Bolesławiec will continue until the end of August this year. Therefore, until then, lighting problems on the streets should be expected.

The aim of the lighting modernization is to reduce energy consumption and, consequently, emissions of gases into the atmosphere, which will improve air quality in Bolesławiec. The reduction in CO2 emissions compared with the situation before the reconstruction has been estimated at approximately 60%.

The installation of new lamps is also expected to improve the city’s appearance, but, above all, replacing all outdated and energy-intensive road-lighting fixtures with energy-saving ones will reduce the costs associated with lighting the city. Annual savings have been estimated at PLN 3,900,000 based on 2022 prices (energy consumption costs: 60%).

The project also includes the installation of an Intelligent Lighting Management System – Smart Lights, enabling wireless and autonomous control of LED lighting fixtures (control at the level of individual LED fixtures). This system supports advanced lighting scenarios for each fixture separately, as well as for groups of fixtures. Bidirectional communication between the LED fixture and the control system will be based on a data transmission network operating in a licensed band. The system will be expandable, allowing not only LED lighting fixtures but also additional Smart City functionalities to be connected and operated, such as

  • air-parameter sensors,
  • dusk and presence sensors,
  • measurement sensors.

The value of the project is PLN 13.4 million, including PLN 3,369,253.08 from the budget of the City of Bolesławiec.

The investment is being carried out by Janaszek Electric Sp. z o.o.
