On Friday, August 13, the Blues Bands Review took place at Kliczków Castle. “This year, the jury will have a tough nut to crack,” Krzysztof Rojewski, the Review’s organizer, announced before the event Krzysztof Rojewski. “Amateurs differ from stars only in that they are not as well known. We selected eight bands from 31 entries. Each of them performs at a high level.”

After heated deliberations, the jury (comprising: Zbigniew Lewandowski, Katarzyna Maliszewska, Roman Puchowski, Bartosz Łęczycki, Lech Bekulard and Cezary Przybylski) awarded the main prize to Amnezja. The band will receive PLN 6,000. The award for the most stylish performance of a Tadeusz Nalepa song, worth PLN 4,000, went to Juicy Band. The award was funded by the Bolesławiec county head.

The audience award, meanwhile, went jointly to The Mohers Band and Amnezja (they will receive PLN 1,000 each). The judges also presented awards to the Review’s best musicians. The best guitarist was Michał Nit of Juicy Band. Dawid Wydra of Wolna Sobota was named the best harmonica player, while Rafał Duszyński of The Mohers Band was named the best bassist. The event’s best drummer was Artur Pustelnik of Juicy Band. The jury also awarded two commendations to vocalists. They went to Anna Pawlus of Juicy Band and Ernest Staniaszek of Amnezja.

Magda Piskorczyk gave an excellent concert Magda Piskorczyk. The artist presented sophisticated arrangements of soul, jazz, blues and gospel standards. The audience also enthusiastically welcomed Sławek Wierzcholski and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa. The living legend of blues music performed his best-known songs, including “Szósta zero dwie,” “Johna Lee Hookera” and “Chorego na bluesa.” Wierzcholski is a volcano of energy on stage, and the rest of the NZB musicians are hardly less energetic. Those who, for whatever reason, did not make it to this concert have something to regret

Friday evening in Kliczków ended with a performance by Gang Olsena. Today (August 14), the following will perform at the Castle: Amnezja, Obstawa Prezydenta, Orkiestra Festiwalowa and Dżem. The event starts at 7:00 p.m..
