The May Day break is not over yet! The first edition of the BoryRun running festival “BoryRun – A Castle Run for Health” is fast approaching. Its crowning event will be a half marathon through the most picturesque parts of the Lower Silesian Forests near Kliczków Castle. The event takes place on Saturday, 6 May. Below is a video of the route:
But that is, of course, not the only distance. The full list:
- half marathon – 21 km,
- 10 km run,
- duathlon: 5 km run / 21 km cycling / 2.5 km run, in the individual and relay categories.
Additionally:
- Nordic walking – 5 km,
- And a children’s gnome run: 100 and 500 m.
The festival’s special guest will be Jerzy Skarżynski, an outstanding athlete, three-time Polish Championships medalist, former marathon runner and author of books about running.
The organizers say: – For running and outdoor recreation enthusiasts, this will be a true running feast.
They add:
The aim of organizing this event is to promote versatile forms of exercise, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Why do we run? Our primary goal is to support depression prevention, as depression is one of the most serious causes of impaired functioning in life, particularly among children and young people. Although psychiatry is an important field of medicine, it remains a taboo subject in society, and this must definitely change. A run with this message will help broaden perspectives on an issue that is so often ignored by society.
The event is organized by Kliczków Castle, the “Wspierajmy Zdrowie” Foundation and Stefańczyk Film Studio. Co-organizers: St. Łukasz Hospital and Bolesławiec County. The portal/newspaper istotne.pl is the festival’s media patron.
