On 3 May 1791, the 3 May Constitution was adopted. To commemorate this event, 3 May is a national holiday and a non-working day in Poland.

A number of people gathered for the ceremonial assembly in front of the Monument to the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in Bolesławiec, including flag bearers, scouts, city and county authorities, the Honor Guard Company of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, US Army soldiers, the “Bolesławiec” Municipal Brass Band and city residents.

During the ceremony, the national anthem was played and the white-and-red flag was raised on the flagpole. In addition, the roll call of the fallen was read and an honor salvo was fired. Flowers were laid at the monument.
